One last reminder: The Rummage Sale is this Friday and Saturday. The sale begins at
8:00 A.M. both days. If you find you have a little extra time,
please come and help. You might even find a bargain. Also,
the raffle tickets for the quilt go on sale at the Rummage Sale. Tickets
are $1.00, and the proceeds from the raffle go to support Epiphany's
Outreach. Thanks again Ellie Burks for the making and donating of the quilt. Don't forget to buy and sell tickets for the Raffle.
A word from Carol Weathers,
Dear Congregation,
As we are preparing for the Rummage Sale, we ask that you do not request to buy any
merchandise until we have everything sorted and priced. We ask this because it puts the person who is pricing in an uncomfortable position. As we are pricing we often consult with one another about what an item should cost. Having to do it on the spot is not the best
way.
Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Carol W.
Attendance last Sunday- 49.
Those scheduled to serve this Sunday are Diane Hays and Sherry Musgrove. Ushers are Tim and
Melinda Hallmark. Serving on Altar Guild are Diane Hays, Barbara DeHart, and Jane Scheidler. Providing refreshments for coffee hour are Carol Weathers and Sherry Musgrove. Vestry Person of the Day is Ellie Burks.
Thanks to all.
Dates to Keep in Mind:
Thursday, September 6-Community Kitchen
Friday and Saturday, September 7 and 8-St. Anne's Rummage Sale
Sunday, September 9- Loose Offering and designated checks go to Michael's Discretionary
Fund.
Tuesday, September 11-Alzheimer's Respite Lunch; Main Dish provided by the people of
Epiphany, Bread and Salad by Sherry Ward, Dessert by Kris Picken.
Thanks to all.
Michael in his sermon Sunday spoke of many things. One thing that struck home at least to me
(Sandy) is comment about The Lord's Prayer. He said, "The Lord's Prayer reminds us that both
sides of the forgiveness proposition are necessary. We need to seek forgiveness for our failures,
and to make reparations where possible, so we can leave them behind and move into the future
God has in store for us. And we need to forgive those who have failed us for exactly the same
reason-to move forward with our lives instead of being stuck in the past.". Thanks, Michael
Have a blessed week,
Carpe Every Diem,
Rufus and Sandy
