Note from Michael Long: I pride myself (a danger in itself) on checking references and sources, etc., in my sermons, but sometimes I slip up. In last Sunday's sermon I attributed the song "She's Not There" to the band The Kinks. Wrong! It was The Zombies. I appreciate it when people listen closely enough and are willing to point out such lapses. Jim Weathers did that for me Sunday. The Kinks sang "You Really Got Me" among other hits. Thanks, Jim!
Rummage Sale: this Friday and Saturday (6th and 7th). You can still drop off items between 10-2 today and tomorrow. Call Carol Weathers if you can help or just show up. This one is going to be the best one ever.
It was such a joy to see all of Money Adams's family at church Sunday. They are a beautiful group of people.
Attendance last Sunday- 59.
Daughters of the King has taken over the buying of meat loaves for Alzheimer's Respite Lunch, and people have come forth to volunteer for the rest of the meals for October and December. Thanks so much to all who participate.
Remember that September's Covered Dish Lunch has been moved to September 15 because of the
Rummage Sale this week. Jane Scheidler and Sandy Arrington will be hostesses.
Those scheduled to serve this Sunday are Rufus and Sandy Arrington.
Ushers are J.J. and Maria Gonzales.
Serving on Altar Guild are Diane Hays and Barbara DeHart.
Vestry Person of the Day is Ellie Burks.
Not sure about coffee hosts.
Please very prayerfully consider your pledge for 2020. Pledge cards will go out September 15 and need to be returned by September 29th. This is so very important. The pledge total will determine whether Epiphany can continue as it is or will have a supply priest.
Have a blessed week,
Carpe every diem,
Rufus and Sandy
