Restoration Update from Deana Geuther: The framing plan for the front wall of the church has been revised by the consulting engineer and sent to the city for review. Hopefully we will be issued a permit soon so the work can begin. Patience is a virtue.

Those scheduled to serve this coming Sunday, September 22nd are: Lay Readers: Rachel Bryson and Lee Myers Acolyte: Grady Gonzales Ushers: Sandy and Rufus Arrington VPOD: David Leitch Altar Guild: Diane Hays and Susan Wallace Altar Flowers have been given by Linda and Jim Dyke.
To celebrate the coming Advent Season, Sandy Arrington is planning a Posada on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the church. Las Posadas commemorates the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus. When they were unable to find lodging in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary were forced to seek shelter in a stable, where the Christ Child was born.
After the Posada, there will be an enchilada lunch in the Parish Hall. We already have volunteers to make the enchiladas. (The church is not paying for the lunch.) JUST COME AND ENJOY THE POSADA AND DELICIOUS LUNCH -- FUN FOR ALL! More information to come!
Please note that Fr. Michael will be out of town from September 29 through October 6. Fr. Michael’s son, Ben, will be the supply priest for both Sundays. Safe travels for Fr. Michael. And welcome back Ben!
Rachel Bryson’s friend Mandy Basham donated five established Burford hollies to Epiphany. The Junior Warden, son Ian and Rachel picked up the plants Monday. Ian and Mandy did the heavy lifting (digging and re-potting) while the JW and Rachel supervised. The hollies are headed to the southeast flowerbed of the Parish Hall once it has been cleared and some new soil added. Thank you, Mandy and Ian.
If you haven’t already, please take time to look at the beautiful lantanas blooming around the planter fountain area. Gorgeous!
The Rummage Sale from last weekend was a success!! A big thank you goes to Carol Weathers for heading up the effort this year, and to all the volunteers that helped receive the items, pricing, and selling! What a monumental task! Congratulations on a successful rummage sale!

LA Care is seeing a dramatic increase in the local community’s need for food. When they open for the first shift of the day, they are overwhelmed by the number of people needing help. Their Board has decided to add a volunteer to help for the first hour of every day they are open (Monday 2-6 p.m., Wednesday 10 to 2 p.m., and Friday 10 to 2 p.m. If you know of someone that would like to volunteer for that first hour or if you can volunteer, please contact LA Care at 512-756-4422 or stop by their facility at 507 West Buchanan Drive (Highway 29) in Burnet.
LA Care also has an urgent need for plastic bags. If you have extras, please drop them off at either the church office or at LA Care during their working hours. Thank you!
Please continue to pray for all in need of comfort, healing, and support. We are all the children of the King of Kings.
