Well, rain has finally come to our area---some have received more than others but we are grateful.
Hopefully, none of you are flooding. I am working on an "ARK" in our barn, we have received totally
over 11 inches.
"The Rummage Sale"
Well, you ladies did it again-over $ 4000--Unbelievable. Thank you St. Anne's, all of you ladies
participated in so many ways. It was a lot of work but now you can share the fruits of you labor.
Again, thank ALL of you.
St. Anne's is meeting Thursday, the 13, at 3:00 P. M. at Torr Na Lochs winery west of Burnet. All ladies
of Epiphany are invited to come and enjoy.
Some Words from Jane Scheidler:
"Join us for prayers for our nation, state and community. Sunday, September 16th, 1 P. M. .
From the Library we will walk to 4 locations in Bertram to pray, City Hall, Fire Station, Police Station and the School. At each of the locations, we will take 7-10 minutes to have a member of the community lead with prayer followed by a time of silence. The event is for all who love our community and believe the power of love can overcome evil. Children welcome. My understanding is that each participating clergy person will lead one of the "stops” Michael Long will be participating, and I hope all the Bertram Epiphanites can participate.
This was organized by Ryan Schmidt and supported by the Bertram Ministerial Alliance.
Thanks!'
Frank Seidensticker would like to thank you for all the birthday cards and the birthday celebration.
The New Lay Reader Schedule is out--if you need to change it contact Jim or trade with other Lay Readers. Thanks so much Jim.
The MUSIC seems to continue to get better. It is due to a lot of work by Otis Maclay, Mike Kelley, and
Michael Long--it is simply amazing. Thank you so much. Of note--the congregation sings wonderfully
acappella.
Sunday Attendance---29 Special offering for Rector's Discretionary Fund--$ 115-- Pledges--$ 825
Those scheduled to serve next Sunday, the 16th, are Jim and Carol Weathers; Ushers George and
Bobbie Clear, Altar Guild Sue Brunson and Nancy Petty, Cookies and Coffee are Georgie Nolan and June Hutson and V P of the Day is Jim Dyke.
Michael's sermon last Sunday was about Alcoholics Anonymous which was very interesting. He closed
with their words "We turn ourselves over to God's care--we have faith that God will care for us-- or we
don't. Of course the reality is that we do and we don't. We have faith until we falter or stumble, and
then we have to ask forgiveness and believe again. And our Creator, I believe, understands that. That's
why we ask God to grant that we will trust in him with all our hearts. And with all our hearts we believe
that God hears and responds to that prayer." Thanks, Michael.
Have a blessed week
