Last Sunday was a day of great joy and deep sorrow. Mae Wright celebrated her 90th birthday, and Gabe Castillo celebrated his 9th birthday. Some of the Montemayor family were with us, and Elias said he would like to receive the e-star. We made a new friend, Judy Kuykendall who was also very happy to be at Epiphany. Along with that, we received the heart breaking news that Karen Holbrook had suffered a massive heart attack and was not expected to live. She passed Sunday evening. A few days before she had cooked two turkeys for the Thanksgiving Community Dinner Thursday. She was quite a lady and will be sorely missed.
As we reported earlier, Shelia Wilson's mother, Jane, fell and broke her hip in Washington. The surgery was a success and she is in rehab. Shelia is staying with her and hopes to be home by the Christmas holidays....please keep both in your prayers.
The St. Anne's Bake Sale was a rousing success. Not only did it make about $700, but it seems a good time was had by all. Thank you ladies, and especially Margaret Thomas who got it all together. And Jill and Thomas Castillo for the put up and take down.
Please mark your calendars for the Posada, December 8. This is our traditional reenactment of Mary and Joseph seeking lodging before Jesus was born. After the service, we will gather at the side door near the church office. Watch for Mary and Joseph (Maria and J.J. Gonzales) Follow them to Michael's office, then Dianne's office, and finally the Youth Center where they will be turned away. Then on to the Parish Hall where they (and us) will be welcomed into the party where a enchilada lunch will be served. Does anyone play the guitar? Sheila was going to play, but she is in Washington with her mother. If so, please talk to Otis or Michael. I (Sandy) don't have anything to do with the music, but it is the traditional music. We decorate the Parish Hall tables with nativity sets. If you have one you would like to share, please let me know. We hope you can come.
Father Michael is in Burnet today since tomorrow is Thanksgiving. The church office will be closed on
