From Michael's Sermon: "Jesus deliberately and consistently challenged his followers to rethink their facile assessments of righteousness and ideas about what is pleasing to God. He was forever offering them(and continues to offer us)examples of God's love and forgiveness in the stories he told and primarily in the life he lived. He knew that these lessons are hard for us human beings to learn and sometimes run contrary to our own ideas. And because that is so difficult for us we pray for God's gift in helping us offer him true and laudable service, that we may run without stumbling to obtain (his) heavenly promises."
