Last Sunday was truly a Thanksgiving celebration for Epiphany Church. First and foremost, it was Caden Walker's baptism day. It was awesome to see the whole church celebrate with him and his family. It was also our regular birthday party for those celebrating birthdays in November. It was a day where we recognized our veterans and had a chance to thank them for their service. Finally, it was a day for our church family to celebrate Thanksgiving together. Thank you to all who made it possible.
We want to say "Thank You' again to our Veterans --can you identify the man in Air Force blue on the front page of today's Burnet Bulletin?
A Reminder about Pledge Cards-please turn in your pledge cards by next Sunday, November 20. The Budget Committee needs this information to prepare for next year.
A word about the Community Thanksgiving Dinner-if you can make dressing for this event, please let Nancy Heuss know. A big thank you to Nancy for heading this up.
A Special Note Regarding the E-Star: If you respond to the e-star with an email, it does not necessarily get to us as we write the e-star and send it the church office to be sent out. Dianne mails it as well as sends it via email. Special editions and extras are sent directly from our home computer. Our email address has changed: [email protected]

Michael's sermon last Sunday seemed to be especially meaningful, but then they all are. He closed it by saying:
"So as Caden stands on the brink of his life as a baptized Christian and as we stand poised for the beginning of a new chapter in our nation's story, we remember these words of our Lord: 'By your endurance you will gain your souls'
Humility-recognizing that God is God, and we are not.
Hard work-practicing what we vow in the Baptismal Covenant: being faithful in Church; praying; resisting evil;
seeking forgiveness; proclaiming the Good News; serving Christ in other people; striving for justice
and peace for everyone and respecting their dignity.
Endurance-keeping at all of this, especially when it's difficult.
All of that is simply impossible for us human beings. And all of it is possible by God's grace, and for that we give God the glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Amen."
Thanks Michael. Remember that his whole sermon is on the website.
Have a blessed week,
Carpe every diem,
Rufus and Sandy
