" 1. This is about the song the folks at Epiphany have come to know as the "kneeling prayer," set to the
tune of "Edelweiss." At her last visit Bishop Harrison expressed surprise that we were still using it, and told
some of us that its use is illegal, pursuant to the composers' wishes and copyright law. We have since
discontinued use of the hymn. I know that many of you feel attached to this piece, and I'm sorry for your
disappointment, but we certainly do not want to be in the position of either breaking the law or violating the
wishes of two beloved artists regarding their creative work. Here are a couple of links that explain the issue:

2. On the Day of Pentecost, May 20, we will celebrate the Feast of the Holy Spirit by baptizing three of our
members--Amelie Maclay-Tijerina (Mollie) and Eddie and Jeremiah Slape. Congratulations to them and to all of us
at Epiphany!
3. I will not be able to be in Burnet this Thursday. the 10th."
The office will close at 1:00 P. M. on Thursday, May 10th.
Pentecost Sunday, May 20 will be a big celebration. In addition to the baptisms, Mary Mather invites you to celebrate
the 95th birthday of Ralph Whitman in the Parish Hall after church.
SPECIAL PAINTINGS ON EXHIBIT IN THE PARISH HALL: A special group of paintings by Cheri Long are on display in the Parish Hall. These are available for a minimum purchase price of $ 25 (You can pay more). All proceeds will go to Epiphany's Outreach Program for the Boys and Girls Club Teen Center.
URGENT REQUEST: L A CARE Food Drive---On Saturday, May 12 the Burnet Post Office will be conducting a food
drive benefiting L A Care. They could use help weighing, sorting, and stocking the food donations between 10:00 A.M.
and 4:00 P.M.If you can spare a couple of hours go by and join in the helping.
Covered Dish Lunch will be this Sunday, May 13th. Since it is also Mother's Day and many Moms will be celebrating with their families, Bobbie Clear announced in church Sunday that she was cooking a ham and asked all of us to bring vegetables, salads, and desserts. Also, we all need to help clean up afterward!
The next Breakfast at Epiphany will be Thursday, May 17th. If you can come, please let Carol Weathers, Rufus, or Sandy Arrington. know. It would be terrible not to have enough food!
