Bishop Doyle has announced that there is a NEW BISHOP in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. The Rt. Rev. Hector Monterroso, Bishop of Costa Rica, has accepted the position of assistant bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Bishop Monterroso will begin work on July 1, 2017 and will serve as bishop of the southern region of the Diocese. This will free up the schedules of Bishops Harrison and Doyle and put an end to evening visitations. Sounds good doesn't it?
The Church Doors-there seems to be all sorts of questions about the color. The color is the one that was selected by the "Door Committee" At the present time, there is a primer coat plus 3 coats of paint, sanded between each one. There will be at least 2 more coats of the red. The weather (humidity) has not been helping. The oxidation of the paint will help. The surface of the doors is NOT the same as the material as the Episcopal Shield on the Epiphany sign. Let us be patient. They ain't rotted and leaking-and they both work. By the way, I, Rufus do not select colors.--there are just too many variables involved.
EGG Cartons- LA Care is in desperate need of them. If you have any to spare, please bring them to church.
Please keep Deborah Kelley in your prayers today. She is having an inpatient procedure today.
There was a bit of sadness sending Shelia Wilson back to her home in Chicago Sunday, but we wish her the best and "God Speed". We will always treasure the time she shared with us at Epiphany. She is truly a talented and gracious lady.
