We have been very impressed with the care that the company installing the new doors has shown. The doors have been primed, but they have decided that it was too humid to paint them today and have a good finish. There was much more involved than I (Sandy) thought including the repainting of the wall that has the crosses in the choir room, the nathex, the restroom, and the nursery. They were careful to take the crosses down and lay them down exactly as they were so they could put them up exactly as they were.
News Flash-Michael Long is in Burnet today instead of tomorrow.
A Word from Community Kitchen-We served 103 last Thursday. You may or may not know that we have group homes in Burnet and Bertram for folks who cannot live by themselves but function quite well with some help. Five of these homes come regularly to Community Kitchen, and their folks love to help. Picking up the salt and pepper shakers and taking out the trash is important to them and a great help to the servers.
A pair of eyeglasses was left in the church a couple of weeks ago. They appear to be women's glasses and have red rims. They are in the church office.
Dates to keep in mind:
Sunday, May 28-Daughters of the King meets after church in the library.
Sunday, May 28-UTO Ingathering-We have much to be thankful for, and thinking of our blessings with a small donation is very meaningful.
Thursday, June 1-Community Kitchen
Tuesday, June 7-Stitchers Group meets
Tuesday, June 13-Alzheimer's Respite Group. Thanks to the people of Epiphany, Joyce Juhnke, and Patty Murray for providing the lunch.
Thursday, June 15-Vestry Meeting Young Scarborough of The First State Bank will discuss ways to invest the money from the Edward Jones account. All parishioners are welcome to come.
Sunday attendance was 38. Collection was $2190.
Those scheduled to serve this Sunday are David Leitch and Rachel Bryson. Ushers will be Robert and Carol Winter. Vestry Person of the Day will be David Leitch. Thanks to all.
Have a blessed week,
Carpe Every Diem,
Rufus and Sandy
