Last Sunday was somewhat of a bittersweet day as we said good-by to Joe and Dolores Urias. We will miss them, but we wish them much happiness as we do Steve and Mary Stevens and Bert and Phyllis McNelly.
A Word about Community Kitchen-Last Thursday, Tom Mitchell, Alicia White, Michael Long, Mike Kelley, George Clear, and we along with Becky Carlberg and Miriam Von Storm served 110 people-and had a good time doing it. If you have ever thought this is something you might like to do, please come on May 18. If you are not up for that but would like to help in some way, we need a lot of rice for this dish we are preparing for then. If you could cook up a cup or two of rice by whatever is your method, please let one of us know. It would be a great help.
A Word about the Alzheimer's Respite Group-It is the second Tuesday and our day to serve lunch for the Alzheimer's Respite Group at the Methodist Church. Of course we do not do this for thanks, but it did mean a lot yesterday when the lady called to remind us and said she knew she didn't have to remind Epiphany because we were always so faithful. If you could provide bread and salad for either July, August, or September, please let us know. And if you have ever thought you might could be a helper, please talk to Mike Kelley. The Respite Group serves two purposes. One is to provide a respite for the caregivers of those with this disease-the other is to provide a safe and enjoyable weekly experience for those suffering from this disease.
Don't forget Saturday May 13th is the united Postal Service Food Drive for L A Care to help stamp out hunger.

Have a blessed week,
Carpe Every Diem,
Rufus and Sandy
