Great things are happening at Epiphany. First, the Teen Center of the Boys and Girls Club is proving to be a real blessing, not only for the kids it serves but for what they are giving in return. This morning after church, there were dough nuts with a thank you note that everyone had signed. Much more important, as a community service project, they went to the Oaks. The girls painted the fingernails and toenails of the ladies, and the guys played games with the men. They were required to do this in order to attend a lock in that is coming up. Think of what this meant to the folks and their families as well as the people who work there and anyone else who happened by.
Second, the Wednesday Night Soup and Leten Study has become a tight knit group who is thinking of continuing on after Lent. No matter whether we are old or new Episcopalians we are all learning and having fun doing it. Michael has such a way of making us feel comfortable asking questions.
It was so good to see Money Adams in church this morning and to hear that June is happy in San Antonio.
Georgie Nolan still needs a few people to help with the church inventory the Diocese is requiring us to do. If you can help, please let her know.
Just for Fun: The Elderly Brothers, a group that plays Elvis, the Beetles, Buddy Holly and more, one of whose
members is our own Robbis Storm will play Saturday, April 1 at Bloomingfest Festival in
Lampasas at 11:00 on the Courthouse Square.
Easter Lilies (And yes, I googled it to be sure of the correct spelling). There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex or you can let Nancy Heuss know.
Speaking of Easter-Phyllis McNelly for years has brought flowers for the Flowering of the Cross for Easter. Could someone please take over this job? Thanks Georgie for reminding us of that.
One of the most special of all the Easter services is the Easter Vigil. It will be at 8:00, Saturday, April 15. It is late because we will come into the church in the dark much like it must have been for the ladies who came to the tomb. We will get to have a glimpse of what it must have been like. It will be joyous; and afterwards we will have a reception to celebrate in the Parish Hall. The food will be much like what they would have had-fruit, olives, cheese, crackers, bread with dipping sauce and wine. If you can help provide any of these items, please contact Carol Weathers. Not all churches have this service so this would be a good time to invite friends-not because we want them to give up their church, but because we want to share the experience.
Sunday attendance- 44 . Collection-$2,555.00
A Word from Cheryl Kafel-"I am helping to organize a free Survivor and Caregiver dinner that is associated with Relay for Life. This is a free dinner, not a fund raising event, in which cancer survivors and a guest/caregiver will gather to celebrate life with food, music, and door prizes. Could you please help me spread the word so that survivors will know a night of celebration will be held in their honor? It will be at Hill Country Fellowship in Burnet on May 5, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. Thank you so much for your help"

Michael in his sermon Sunday reminded us that most of the Pharisees were good people who were trying to do the right thing. There were only a minority who were corrupt and conspired to kill Jesus. Thanks Michael for reminding us of that. Sometimes, it is so easy to lump everyone together.
Have a Great Week,
