We kicked off Daylight Savings Time with a Bang......53 beautiful people at Church.
What did you think of the sound with the mikes at the Lectern and the Prayer Desk? Had several favorable comments from those whose hearing is not the best. As soon as we Layreaders get used to them it will be better. It will enable ALL of you to get full benefit of the service that we love so much. Thank you Bill Drake for bringing it together.
A message from your Senior Warden, Carol Weathers: The Vestry will have a mini retreat this coming Saturday, the 14th. at Carol Weather's home. It will include a discussion about the recent conference the Diocese held in Georgetown. There will be a short business meeting that will count as the March Vestry meeting, therefore, there will not be a Vestry meeting on Wednesday, March 18. If you have any concerns or suggestions that you would like discussed at the meeting or any future meetings, please let Carol know.
St. James, Austin, Lenten Tea is next Sunday, the 15th, from 3-5 P.M. Several ladies from Epiphany plan to go. They will meet in the parish hall parking lot at 2:00 to caravan. Maybe you would like to go.................
Proceeds from the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper were delivered to LA Care and Lottie sends a special THANKS.."Yall are so generous".
Epiphany received a note from Helen Gibbs thanking all for the calls and notes she has received since moving back to Burnet. Also a thank for being on the prayer list and personal prayers.
Charlie Clayton is in Seton Williamson County hospital with pneumonia and a back fracture complications. Please keep him and Rachael in your prayers. Talked with Mark Milanivich today, he's making progress but it is slow. Please keep he and Dawn in your prayers.
Next Wednesday, the 18th, John Ragland will be having Aneurysm Surgery, Please keep him and Dianne in your prayers.
This Wednesday and Thursday, 11th & 12th, will be the final sale of household goods at LaRue Miller's house. She has sold the property.
On Thursday, April 23, 2015, the Burnet County Office of Emergency Management will begin holding a series of CERT training classes. This training is free of charge and will be held from 7-10 p.m. in Burnet. There is 7 weeks of training plus a live simulation and graduation. Your only commitment is approximately 26 house of your time.
Don't forget, tonight is the Lenten Soup Supper followed by Michael's study on Marcus Borg's: "Embracing an Adult Faith:What it means to be a Christian", followed by Evening Prayer or Compline.
Sunday after the service, please come to a Volunteer Reception, honoring all the folks at Epiphany who make things happen, both for our church and in the community and world. Thank you Georgie for putting this together.
Those scheduled to serve this coming Sunday are: Ushers----Bert & Phyllis McNelley and Layreaders------David & Karen Leitch. Thanks to all.
