We too want to add our thank yous to everyone who helped in any way (and we think that was everyone who could) with the reception after Emmy Clinton's memorial service. It was amazing, but not surprising. The love and caring one finds at Epiphany is something to behold. It is not just things that get done, but the joy in which they get done.
Take the matter of the lawn. Listening to Tim and Melinda Hallmark, Claude Burks, and Mike Kelley. (If
there is someone else who helps, please let us know). one would think it is the most fun thing in the world to keep the grounds looking lovely in this heat.
The music gets better and better every Sunday thanks to Otis Maclay, Mike Kelley, and Michael Long.
We don't even pretend to know how it works but are so grateful it does.
The Church Prayer List: We are going to be UPDATING the Prayer List Soon--if there are names on
it that you would like kept, please Circle Them. Thank you.
Then there is outreach. Last Sunday, the loose offering went to LACare. Since we began keeping good records in April, the amount given has risen each month. Sunday, it was $152.00 We always ask Lottie what she needs; and at least so far, it has always been canned meats and beans.-something that provides a quick meal especially for those without cooking facilities. If anyone would like to go with us to buy and deliver the food, just let us know. We would love to have you.
Another outreach is providing lunch for the Alzheimer's Respite Group that meets on Tuesdays at the
Methodist Church. Our church has budgeted the funds to buy the Stouffer's meatloaves and mashed
potatoes to go with them. People from Epiphany provide the bread and salad, and the dessert. If this is
something you might like to do from time to time, please let us know. The importance of this was pointed out when a caregiver of an Alzheimer's patient, said that finally she could try on clothes at Bealls. A little
thing, but it means so much to her.
Then there is Community Kitchen. As of now, the Kitchen does not need money, but can always use some more help. People from Epiphany together give 30 hours or more each month to get the meal served to some hungry people. If you have large grocery bags like from Walmart we are in need of them
for the "Take With" dinners. We can pick them up at the church office. Thank you.
In some prayer somewhere, Michael says,"Make us every mindful and responsive to the needs of others.
(or something like that). You are doing that, and we thank you.

Michael's sermon was powerful last Sunday. It gave us a glimpse into his thoughts and feelings especially
about the injustices of separating mothers and children at the border. He closed y saying, "Jesus heals on his way to a healing, so great was the need. Our world needs healing now, just as it did 2,000 years
ago. We are called to be, in the words of today's Collect, joined together by the Spirit, to be the Church set on the foundation of the apostles and prophets and on the cornerstone of Jesus Christ. We are called to be healers in a hurting world." Thank you Michael, and have a good vacation.
Have a blessed July 4th and week,
Carpe Every Diem,
Rufus and Sandy
