Happy New Year Dear Friends of Epiphany---You Are Our Family--
January 7th is A Celebration of The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany- As you know, it is the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the building of the original church and the 14th anniversary of the dedication of the new church. It is also a celebration of the new folks who have found their way to Epiphany and to the older members who have found their way back. There will be a reception after the 10:30 service.
However, it is no secret that the pledges were not what we had hoped for. Perhaps, even in this, God is calling us to be creative. There is a person who buys the communion wine. There is a person who buys the coffee for coffee hour. There is a person who provides flowers for the altar when no one has signed up. Maybe each one of us could do one little thing. I (Sandy) have decided to buy the trash bags for the Parish Hall. I know that they are a size not easily found so I will find out how much they cost and put that in the collection plate when they are needed.
Please mark your calendars for January 14, the date of our annual parish meeting. We will elect new vestry members and delegates to council.
Also-please check the current directory and make sure your information is correct. A new directory will be coming out shortly, and Diane needs the correct information. Also, would you please make sure your birthday is correct. Thanks a bunch.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the Christmas services so beautiful-especially the altar guild.
Sometimes we are not aware of all the work they do behind the scenes. Incidentally, if this is a ministry you think you might be interested in, please contact Diane Hays or Carol Weathers.
Another thank you to those providing lunch for the Highland Lakes Respite Center-Main dish provided by the people of Epiphany, bread and salad provided by Deborah Kelley, and dessert provided by Alicia White.
