From all reports, the Warden's Conference last Saturday was very meaningful, echoing Bishop Doyle's theme at Council. We are a diverse group, and we need to find ways to accept and celebrate the diversity and include and value everyone and their opinions. We are all different, and we have much to learn from each other.
We missed Michael Sunday but were glad to welcome his son, Rev. Ben Long, who did an excellent job standing in for his dad. The attendance was about 50ish which was a good thing. We trust that the marathon was a great experience for Michael and that he did cross the finish line vertically.
Dale Petty had a stroke last week but is home now and recuperating. Please keep him and Nancy in your prayers.
A special thank you goes out to the folks at Epiphany who gave money or shoes, socks, and boy's underwear for the children of Burnet Elementary who need these basics. Thanks also to those who help provide lunches each month to the AlzheimersRespite Group. In March, Joyce Juhnke, Bobbie Clear and Mary Stevens will be doing the cooking. If you would like to help with either of these ministeries, let me (Sandy) know.
Tuesday, the 17th, was our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper remembering the time when cooks used up all of their flour and sugar for pancakes since they would not be using flour and sugar in Lent. Hope your back gets better Gary.
