Lue Mather sends her thanks for all the cards and prayers she has received.Also-she was able to go with John in the golf cart to get the mail. What a blessing!

Thank you to our stalwart Senior Warden, Gary Hardy for mowing the vacant lot. It looks great!
A Word from the Memorial Committee- Epiphany has a Memorial Fund which can be used to remember loved ones after they have passed away. When you make contributions to the Memorial Fund, your loved one's name will be placed in the Book of Remembrance located in the parish hall.
The money placed in the Memorial Fund is used to provide permanent items for the benefit of the church. Some examples include the new stand (made from the old pulpit) that is in the vestibule (Narthex) where visitors have a chance to place their names. It is also used for registering guests at funerals and weddings. The brass at the altar was polished to restore them to their original beauty' and new green altar hangings are being made to replace the old hangings. Hopefully, they will be ready in a few months.
The Vestry appointed a committee to make suggestions on the use of the Memorial Fund money; however, the Vestry makes the final decisions.
The Rummage Sale is coming up fast. Much help is needed, and the sign up sheet is now in the church office. If you could help only an hour or two, it would be most appreciated. The dates are September 5 and 6.
Ultreyea will be August 17 at Lampassas. For more information, contact Patty Murray.
The Oatmeal Festival will be Saturday, August 30 in downtown Bertram. Epiphany will be giving our water with coozies with our name on it during and after the parade. Help is needed, and it is a lot of fun. Contact Mary Stevens or Gary Hardy if you can participate.
Remember that our covered dish lunch will be the 3rd Sunday, August 17 and that we will have just the one service on that day. It will be a wonderful time for our whole Epiphany Family to be together. Also, on that day, our missionary, Jeannie Loving will be with us. The loose offering will go to her for her work in Honduras; and if you would like to give a check, please make it out to Epiphany and notate that it goes to her.
It's time to update the Church Directory. Please review your current Directory and notify the office of any changes by
August 25. The updated Directory is scheduled to be released in September.
Servers for next Sunday will be 8:00-Jim Dyke, 10:30-Linda and Jim Dyke; Ushers will be Frank Seidensticker and Bill Drake.
In Michael's sermon, he told us about Feed the Hungry in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. It was begun thirty years ago in the tiny kitchen of St. Paul's Church, feeding two families. Today that program feeds 4,000 school children every day and makes a sizable dent in the hunger in that region of the world. Michael served on the board of FTH for fifteen years so he knows whereof he speaks. To learn more about this amazing program, check out the website link (http://www.feedthehungrysma.org/). In case you are wondering, schools in Mexico do not provide lunch for their students.
Epiphany does a good job in these areas. At least 10 work regularly at La Care, at least 9 work regularly at Community Kitchen, at least 9 to date have volunteered to provide food regularly for the Alzheimer's Respite Program at the Methodist church. Some people also make regular monetary donations. And others help whenever they can.
Have a blessed week-and carpe every diem,
Rufus and Sandy
