OK,for those who are procrastinators like us, it is time to clean out those closets and bring your treasures to church Sunday through Thursday, Sunday 9-3 thru 9-7. St. Anne's Rummage Sale, Sept. 8 and 9, is a great thing. It gives us purpose to cleaning out, it gives folks a chance to buy really nice things at very reasonable prices. It also funds the good works that St. Anne's Guild does-outreach in the community and service to Epiphany.
Speaking of St. Anne's outreach to the community, the Community Kitchen is very grateful for St. Anne's quarterly gift and Epiphany's monthly gift. There is a donation jar where our guests put in whatever they can. Once, there was 152 pennies wrapped in a napkin; and once in a while, someone puts in a substantial amount. But, it is never enough to cover the cost of the good meal that is provided. We notice our guests really like tossed salad; and because of these gifts, we serve it almost every time.
Physical hunger is one thing, but there is also the hunger for companionship; and Community Kitchen provides a respite from loneliness. It is a blessing to hear the conversation and laughter.
Of Note: Epiphany will be sending a contribution to the Diocese for the flood relief refund for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Remember that the Covered Dish Lunch will be Sunday, September 17.
Attendance Sunday 44. Collection $1342.
