This Sunday will be October 1, 2023! September seemed to fly by. Tonight, Thursday, September 28th you will see the final Harvest Moon for 2023. Moon rise should be at 7:11 p.m. tonight. On Saturday, October 14 there will be an annular eclipse. According to National Science Teaching Association (NSTA), in an annular eclipse, the Sun never goes completely dark. Hence, the term “Ring of Fire” around the dark sphere of the Moon. During this eclipse, you will still need to use special protective glasses to view the eclipse straight on. We are on that narrow path for viewing this eclipse. It officially starts at 9:15 a.m. PDT (Oregon) and ends in Texas at 12:03 p.m. (CDT). The main event for the total solar eclipse will be on Monday, April 8, 2024. More info on that later as the time gets closer!
