Ministries of Epiphany Episcopal Church
Epiphany’s Mission
To be part of God's family, growing through worship and ministry by sharing Christ's love to our community and beyond.
It Is Easy To Get Involved at Epiphany.
Epiphany has established several commissions to fulfill the mission of our church. Browse the listing below to see where God is calling you to get involved!
MINISTRIES
One of the ways we share the love of Christ is through ministry to those members of our community who are in particular need. The following lay ministries equip and enable us to care for one another as we ourselves would like to be cared for.
Small Group Ministry
Epiphany offers a variety of small groups that meet regularly for Bible study and prayer. Call the church office for more information.
Ushers
Before a worship service even begins, Epiphany’s Ushers offer a vital ministry to our members and guests. Often the first face one sees upon entering the narthex, our ushers greet each person and present him or her with a worship bulletin. They assist those who need help to find appropriate seating. During the service, ushers distribute the offering plates and ensure the smooth collection of offerings. Ushers also guide the flow of "traffic" during communion, guiding worshippers to the appropriate position, and informing the clergy if someone is unable to come forward and needs communion brought to him at his pew. Our Ushers also ensure that any special need a worshipper might have is promptly addressed.
Lay Readers
Lay readers, who are authorized by the bishop to read parts of the service in our church, serve on a rotating schedule. The basic responsibilities are lector, leader of prayers of the people, chalice bearer, assist at baptisms, leader for the congregation to follow during the service, pinch hit for absent acolytes, assist as the need arises during the service, and conduct Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer.
St. Anne's Guild (ECW)
Our purpose as the women of the Episcopal Church is to empower each other to live the life for which Christ called us by sharing His love through outreach, fellowship and spiritual growth. The Episcopal Church Women is the fellowship of ALL women of the church and is organized to enable the women to serve our Lord through service, worship, education, evangelism and pastoral care. All women of Epiphany are members. St. Anne’s meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM in the Parish Hall. For more information, contact Carol Weathers.
Daughters of the King (DoK)
The Daughters of the King is an international Order open to women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church. Members undertake a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. A Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spreading of Christ's Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of her parish. They meet the last Sunday of each month. For more information about the Order, contact Sandy Arrington or follow this link: www.dok-national.org.
