Well, I am writing this Monday Evening so you can better understand what I am going to say. About 7:00
p.m. I saw a lot of black clouds as I was feeding, watering plants, and putting up the goats, there was THUNDER, and Buddy, our border collie, headed for the shop and got under the mop sink. The wind picked up but nothing----THEN--while we were having supper about 8:15, we had A Little Thunder Shower. Awesome, but, THANK YOU LORD. Hope you got some, too. And Tuesdayevening, another light shower. More is possible Wednesday evening.
Star Companies have begun work on the bell tower and roof area where we had a bad leak that came into the choir room and narthex this spring. This issue is what caused the damage to the doors.
Just for fun-our own Robbis Storm has a musical group called TheTexas Elderly Brothers made up of himself, Clark Corbin, Zane Lancaster, and Trent Lancaster. He describes the group as " 4 old Lampasas guys who love 1950's rock and roll." They will be playing at the Lampasas Courthouse SquareSaturday, August 13 from 7:30-9:30 P.M. No charge, but dress for comfort, bring a folding chair and something cool to drink.
Don't forget that St. Anne's has 2 Storage Building reserved for early donors for the up and coming Rummage Sale
on September 16 and 17. Keys are available at the Church office.
Daughters of the King meets this Sunday, the 31st, after church in the Youth Center.
Sunday Attendance was 38 and Collection was $2577.
This coming Sunday the Eucharistic Minister will be Jim Dyke and the Lector is Linda Dyke. Ushers are Diane Hays, Cecile Gloier, and Sherry Musgrove. VP of the Day is Diane Hays.
In his sermon last Sunday, Michael told of his being stranded on his motorcycle the previous Thursday and all the people who stopped to help-the folks at Hoovers, Wayne of Wayne's Tire and Automotive, some unlikely young people on the outskirts of Liberty Hill, his son Ben, and Mary and John Erskine-modern day Good Samaritans. Rufus happened to see John, and he said that he too had been stranded on his motorcycle and of the folks who had stopped to help him. He wanted to return the favor. It sounds like there is a lesson there for all of us.
Have a great week,
Carpe Every Diem,
Rufus and Sandy
