Numbers aren't everything, but it was so good to see so many people in church last Sunday.
Most of you know that Linda Dyke retired from teaching. A big thank you to her for giving her art supplies to our Sunday School. The kids go through a lot of crayons, markers, and the like; and Georgie and Nancy are most grateful.
Congratulations to Dolores Urias. She was the first one to complete her kneeler. The stitchers meet every Wednesday.
Now is a good time to start cleaning out closets for the annual rummage sale,September 16 and 17. Remember that St. Anne's has two storage buildings for your treasures. Keys are available in the church office.
You know we all have much to be thankful for. One way to express that is giving altar flowers. Remember to sign up to give flowers on the chart in the narthex.
Daughters of the King will meet Sunday, July 31 after the service. Ladies, if you have ever thought about becoming a Daughter or would just like to know more about it, please come to a meeting or talk to one of the Daughters. You would be most welcome.
Sunday attendance was 41 and Collection was $ 3051.
This coming Sunday, the Eucharistic Minister will be Rachel Bryson. The Lector will be David Leitch. Ushers will be Bobbie Clear and Patty Murray. Vestry Person of the Day will be Morgan Wright.
Most all of us struggle with the Martha and Mary thing. We all have things that must be done; and yet we long for time of quiet and peace. Michael's sermonSunday was especially meaningful. He reminded us that we need to find balance and priorities within ourselves and not be distracted from the central and essential truth of God's love and compassion. He said that maybe Jesus is saying, "You've got this divine guidance dwelling within you. And I'm out here--in your midst, in your home, in your world-to remind you of that divine presence. Please listen to the voice of that divine presence, the voice of wisdom that 'fountain of wisdom' within you. Don't drown it out with all the lists of what needs to be done, running from one of those tasks to another as a way of not listening to God's voice speaking within you." He also said that we need to leave the worry and distraction behind and give our attention to God who will give us those good things which we truly need. Thank you so much Michael. And remember, if you would like the whole sermon, just let us know.
Have a wonderful week,
