We trust that you had a blessed Christmas and New Years. Now we turn our thoughts towards Epiphany, Since it is the name of our church, it is especially important to us. It is also traditionally the day the Wise Men came to the baby Jesus. It seems only right that we celebrate this special day. So, we hope you will join us for Italian Cream Cake and coffee after the service Sunday.
The New Burnet Boys and Girl's Club Teen Center will open Wednesday, January 4th in the Youth Center at Epiphany. You will recall we mentioned this had been approved by the Vestry in 2016. It has a lot of potential. Thank you Bill Drake for your foresight. More information can be had from the Daily Tribune of Marble Falls on line.
Ordinarily, Sunday, the 8th, would have been our second Sunday Covered Dish Lunch and Birthday Celebration. However, this will be the next Sunday, January 15. This will also be our annual Parish Meeting. If at all possible, try to come and give your input as we come together to make important decisions for 2017.
A big thank you to the people of Epiphany, Ellie Burks and Phyllis McNelly for providing the lunch for the Alzheimer's Respite Group, the second Sunday in January. If this is something you can help with from time to time please let me (Sandy) know.
Needlework Guild will resume meeting January 10. Congratulations to Ellie Burks who has finished her kneeler.
Choir will meet Sunday at 9:30. There will be no rehearsal this Wednesday.

Those scheduled to serve this Sunday are:Karen Leitch, lector and David Leitch, Eucharistic Minister. Ushers will be Jim and Carol Weathers. Vestry person of the day will be Rufus Arington.
Sunday, Michael closed his sermon with these words, "The name of Jesus makes the ordinary holy. We ordinary people, ordinary flesh, are made holy by the God born in a stable in an occupied land. The name of Jesus makes the ordinary holy. Therefore, as we begin another ordinary year in the Holy Name of Jesus, let us pray that God would make our ordinary year holy: may we seek and find God this year in the ordinary, for God has made the ordinary sacred. May we find God in the poor children born in the occupied lands. May we find God in the marginalized and oppressed of our own nation. May we find God in our ordinary neighbors, for the name of Jesus makes the ordinary holy." Thank you so much, Michael.
Carpe Every Diem,
Rufus and Sandy
