Let us begin by saying Thank You for the many forms "Of Giving" that are taking place at Epiphany. It truly
is a Church Family working and pulling together. Epiphany is alive and well--The "Holy Spirit" is at work.
We know that a lot of you are involved in Outreach such as Kris Pickens who takes their surplus eggs to
L A Care and others who work at L A Care, work with The L A Respite group, Community Kitchen as well as volunteering elsewhere. Thank you to ALL who spend thousands of hours doing just that. You are what enable
those organizations and groups to keep going.
From the Junior Warden: "Several people have indicated they would like to help with the grounds. If you
are interested in scheduling individuals, etc. to help keep our grounds looking nice, please contact me".
Welcome to our 2 New Gardeners--Sue Brunson and Georgie Nolan--they are taking over the
maintenance and weeding of the 2 beds in front of the Parish Hall.(That is the area around the Church
Sign on the corner and the raised bed of irises leading up to the front door of the Parish hall). Ian
Rodriguez and Georgie Nolan are seeing to keeping the patio clean between the Parish Hall and the
Youth Center. Thank you all.
The Senior Citizens' Center is now open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.
in the old Burnet Elementary Building on Wood Street. A hot meal is available at noon. By the way,
the "Head Start Program" has been moved there also.
Some Notes About Lent: First: Michael will be in his office during Lent on Wednesdays rather than
Thursdays. He will be coming in a little later as he will be staying later (probably 9:30 or 10:00 ish).
Second: Carol Weathers has the list ready for VOLUNTEERS for the Soup and Bread on Wednesday nights
(about 5-5:30) to be followed by the Lenten Program at 6:00. I checked yesterday and we have plenty of
soup bowls, bread plates, and spoons.
If you have corrections or additions to the Church Directory please get them in quick---- The 2018 Directory
will be coming out soon.
Of Special Note: Both Karen Holbrook and Morgan Wright are home from the Hospital. Ralph Whitman
will be having a heart procedure shortly. Please continue to keep them in your prayers.
Hope you got a chance to read the article in the Picayune on January 24 about Kathy Rose by Connie
Swinney. She was quite an inspiration. It is on the bulletin board outside of the church office.
