A QUOTE FROM SUPREME COURT JUDGE SCALIA: "God assumed from the beginning that the wise of the world would view Christians as fools---and He has not been disappointed. Devout Christians are destined to be regarded as fools in modern society. We are fools for Christ's sake. We must pray for courage to endure the scorn of the sophisticated world. If I have brought any message today, it is this: Have the courage to have your wisdom regarded as stupidity. Be fools for Christ. And have the courage to suffer the contempt of the sophisticated world". (Thanks Bert for sharing).
Tonight our Lenten Soup and Bread Supper followed by our Lenten Study led By Fr. Michael continues---soup and bread at 5:30 and study at 6:00 followed by aCompline/Evening Prayer closing. Thanks Michael and thank you Carol Hervey for organizing the volunteers for soup and bread. There seems to be some confusion regarding second Sunday Lunch so here is the latest that has been sent to us." The second Sunday potluck lunch has always been a special day at Epiphany. A time that we can all get together and celebrate our friendships and special Epiphany love for one another. The Vestry and St. Anne's has decided to add to that celebration and recognize our members' birthdays for the month on that day also. We hope that, if it's your birthday during that particular month you will come and celebrate with us. There will be a special cake on the dessert table and special recognition for you. We thought we might call potluck lunch our CELEBRATION SUNDAY POTLUCK !! " There will be a special card sent to each person who has a birthday during that month as a reminder that we will celebrating your birthday on Celebration Sunday Potluck!"

From Michael's Sermon : " Some Pharisees came and said to Jesus, Get away from, here for Herod wants to kill you........ Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things......This devine love causes the psalmist to say, 'Whew! What if I hadn't believed in God's love here and now?' Prompts Paul to write, ' We are citizens of heaven. ' And moves the heart at least of a few Pharisees to see God at work in the ministry of this itinerate rabbi. What grace there is in our being inheritors of this wisdom and insight. What if we didn't believe that we would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living ? ". Thank you Michael.
Have a Blessed Week,
Carpe every Diem,
Rufus & Sandy
