LENT is here. Yesterday was Ash Wednesday. FR. Michael gave “ashes" to some 36 people on the square in Burnet with “Ashes to Go," and we had 14 people at the service last night. Michael commented he was so grateful to Fr. Ted Hervey for starting “Ashes to Go" on the Square in Burnet. The Lenten Study Series will begin March 1st on Zoom at 6:00 P.M. and will continue on Wednesdays at the same time on zoom. The Series will be on hymns of the church. Watch for Zoom Access Codes coming from Fr. Michael. Sunday is the first Sunday in lent -- liturgies and prayers will be Rite I in the Book of Common Prayer, and there will be no altar flowers.
Some words from the Sr. Warden:
“Father Michael may share that he gave communion to Alton Parker on Sunday after church. Alton is Patty's friend who requested to be baptized. He's at home under hospice care. He greatly appreciated Fr. Michael's visit.
The reception for the upcoming visit by the Bishop on March 26th was discussed at the vestry meeting. It was decided that the reception will be provided in the hallway outside of the church library. It's a bright and airy space and with Audrey's beautiful plants, it will look amazing. More to come as the Bishop's visit nears.
Meeting in the choir room after church for coffee and refreshments is working well.
The Restoration Committee is waiting on a bid and claims information from insurance company. Jim Dyke is assisting the committee with flooring. Nothing is speedy about this process. Jr. Warden, Susan Wallace, has graciously compiled a very organized master file for the committee so that we can easily and transparently keep track of the 3 claims (lightning strike, hail damage, and Parish Hall Flood) and expenses. Thank you for all your time, Susan!
Deana”

Prayers for Susan and Dallas Wallace that were flying to Salt Lake City this week. Safe trip and stay warm.
I might add that Rachel Bryson has praises for the new Burnet Urgent Care. Good to hear and report for all of us.
